Manage trips, notifications, and settings.

Do I have to use the app?

No.

Automile can be used entirely through the web portal. All trips are automatically recorded whether you use the app or not.

The mobile app is a convenient complement for those who are often on the go and want to manage trips directly in the field.

How do I view and manage my trips?

All trips are recorded automatically when the vehicle is used.

For each trip, the following is displayed, among other things:

  • Start and stop address

  • Date and time

  • Kilometers driven

  • Trip length and duration

The trip is only displayed once it is completed.

How do I categorize a trip?

You can categorize a trip as:

  • Business trip

  • Private trip

  • Other trip

In the app:

  • Go to Trips

  • Swipe right on a trip and select category
    or

  • Open the trip and select category at the bottom

Correct categorization is an important part of an approved driving log.

How do I add notes to a trip?

For business trips, the Swedish Tax Agency recommends that you specify the purpose of the trip.

In the app:

  • Go to Trips

  • Select trip

  • Write your note

  • Press Return

Alternatively: Swipe left on the trip and choose Note.

How do I set my driving schedule?

You can create a schedule to automatically categorize trips during certain times.

  • Go to Settings (the gear icon at the bottom left).

  • Click on Schedules.

  • Select Add new.

  • Enter days and times.

  • Choose which category the schedule should assign to the trips.

  • Link vehicles.

  • Save.

Important:
The vehicle has a default category that applies outside the scheduled times. This should be the opposite of the schedule category.

The categorization is always preliminary and can be adjusted afterwards.

How do I edit the settings for the car?

Go to Vehicles in the toolbar.

  • Click the arrow next to Show.

  • Select Edit.

Here you can:

  • Update vehicle information

  • Add nicknames

  • Adjust mileage

  • Other

  • Private

  • Business trip

3. Click Save

  • Turn off the map view (the icon near the search box).

  • Select the trips you want to merge.

  • Click Merge.

How do I split a combined trip?

  • Go to Trips

  • Open trip details

  • Select Split from combined trip

How do I exclude private trips in a report?

  • Go to: app.automile.com/reports

  • Select period and vehicle.

  • Activate Hide private trips.

How do I enter the car's mileage?

In most cases, the mileage is read automatically.

If not:

Via the web:

  • Go to Vehicles → View → Edit

  • Enter the mileage in kilometers

Via the app:

  • Go to Vehicles

  • Swipe left on the car

  • Select Edit

Once the start value is entered, the mileage will update automatically as long as the box is connected.

Why doesn’t the meter reading match?

Minor deviations may occur due to:

  • Tire size (summer/winter tires)

  • Speedometer accuracy

  • GPS coverage

Deviations are normally small (under 2% over several years) and do not affect the validity of the driving log.

How do I adjust the meter reading?

  • Go to Vehicles → View → Odometer reading

  • Select period (recommended: previous month)

  • Click Download trips

  • Enter current odometer reading

  • Click Calculate

  • Check and press Save

The difference is entered as locked trips with the name
"Odometer adjustment"

My trips do not appear

Check:

  • That the Automile Box is properly connected

  • That the trip is fully completed

  • That the merging setting does not delay the registration

Stops do not appear

Check:

  • That the car was completely turned off

  • That the function Automatically merge trips is not enabled

Why does it look like my vehicle is still out driving?

If the Automile Box loses connection or is in an area with poor reception, the position cannot be updated in real-time.

However, the box saves all data and sends it when the connection is restored.

This only affects the display – no data is lost.
